SocialFi Reputation System

The Challenge
In an ecosystem where anonymity is the norm and trust is hard-won, we set out to design a reputation system that is transparent, verifiable, and rewarding. Honey Chat’s vision was to empower users by making their contributions visible and valuable through an on-chain badge system that fuels both discoverability and rewards.
The Solution
I led product and design for Honey Chat’s reputation layer — a system that translates engagement into status, recognition, and economic reward. Each badge represents an on-chain action or behavior. Whether you’re a creator, trader, or community moderator, your participation earns you dynamic, level-based badges (1–5), each contributing to your standing in the hive.
Badges not only mark positive achievements — they also help protect the hive. Negative badges flag toxic behavior, prominently displayed over user avatars, encouraging accountability and transparency in our social layer.

Design Collaboration
To ensure badges visually matched their social and functional weight, we partnered with Liquid Development — the studio behind titles like Halo, Borderlands, and Valorant. I art-directed the creative process to produce a badge system that is expressive, gamified, and deeply embedded into Honey Chat’s brand DNA.

Product Outcomes
Built a dynamic badge framework linked directly to on-chain activity
Developed a public-facing badge gallery and profile display system
Launched the Beradrop: a seasonal rewards program tied to badge ownership and leaderboard position
Established the foundation for privacy-preserving badge verification using Zero Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs)

The Future of On-Chain Reputation
This system lays the groundwork for “trust in a trustless space.” With future ZKP integration, users will be able to prove reputation without revealing private data. The result? A safer, more transparent, and more rewarding social layer.
